Items for Everyone

Here are some items of clothing I think everyone could use to create many outfits for lots of different styles of fashion taste:
  • a vest of any type, preferably a neutral colour
  • a simple black dress
  • a jean skirt, in an unexpected colour
  • a 'tough' jacket (leather, or bike jackets)
  • a pair of skinny jeans in a dark wash
  • a pair of 'comfy' jeans
  • some shirts that could be considered fancy or casual, depending on the context
  • some skirts that could be considered fancy or casual, depending on the context
The rest of your closet should be clothes and shoes that reflect you and your personal style. They should consist of sweaters, pants, shirts, dresses and skirts, to allow for many layering and outfit techniques to unfold. Play around with the different items you have. How I come up with new outfits, is I choose a shirt or skirt that I really feel like wearing that day, and then I can feel what other item should be worn with it. On other days, I need to hold up my shirt to my skirts, and see which one feels right. This is my technique. Tell me yours! I am going to go shopping in a week, so expect some posts on new outfits, and a Haul post. See you guys soon!

Fashion Sketch Book

Here are some pictures of my outfits that I have sketched. (Keep in mind that I am not the best artist!):

Sorry that all the pictures are so muddled around. I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to place them where I want them. Help?
I suggest that if you like to keep track of all the different outfits you own, you should keep a sketch journal like the one I have. That way, you can keep track of your outfits, or any future outfits you may want (I would recommend using some items you own, and one item you don't for future outfits, that way it's easier to complete the outfit if you really love it), and still increase your drawing skills and use up some of you free time. If you are quite a busy person, than I recommend taking photos of your outfits and finding a time to upload, print, and paste them in to a journal. I always write down what type of outfit I have just completed is (eg: colourful, for school, day 2) and I always write down the date, too. Then, later on, you can go back and admire how much your taste for fashion has grown! Now, I will explain the different outfits, because the pictures aren't very clear.

OUTFIT 1:
This is a simple gray t-shirt from Old Navy. It's so comfortable, I use it for my pajamas sometimes! I placed a very simple black v-neck dress from Target underneath, to act as a skirt. I also used a olive green vintage belt that my mom gave me, and a olive green cargo type purse. I added a brown and black, thinly beaded necklace from Argentina for some personality. I added some simple black flats for shoes.

OUTFIT 2:
This is a simple olive green ribbed tank top, with a long, cotton, gray vest from Converse brand at Target on top. The vest hits about hip length, and is long and flowing. I paired the tops with a 3 tiered black with red and white very small flowers skirt from xhiliration brand. It falls about mid-thigh length. I, again, used some simple black flats for shoes. For my purse, I used a reversible black purse from Target.

OUTFIT 3:
This is a black with silver sparkley pattern top, with 3/4 length sleeves. I added a vintage wid black belt with a a statement buckle at my hips for some body. I paired it with a skirt with big yellow, brown, and blue flowers, from a British brand, Madame Butterfly. I again, used my black flats.

OUTFIT 4:
This is a black and white horizontally striped tank top from Converse brand. I added my black tiered skirt again, from outfit 2. I used my brown suede-ish moccasins from New Mexico.

OUTFIT 5:
This is a pale yellow with 3 brown birds shirt from the Sarah Jessica Parker line of clothing, layered over my olive green ribbed tank top again, from outfit 2. I added an imaginary (hopefully I will buy one soon!) gray jean skirt to the outfit. A normal jean skirt would do finely as well. As for shoes, I used my moccasins again, from outfit 4.

OUTFIT 6:
This is my simple black dress again, from outfit 1. I added my olive tank top underneath, and placed my vintage olive belt on my hips, from outfit 2 and outfit 1. I added my simple black flats and my reversible black bag from Target.

OUTFIT 7:
This is a ruffle sleeved hot pink thin shirt, paired over an olive green sports bra. I added my imaginary gray jean skirt again, from outfit 5.

Thank you for reading this very long post, and hoped you enjoyed! I f you have any requests for posts, please comment below, and I will gladly do your post.
